Lela Leane Ray, 93, of Mayetta, KS passed away January 30, 2013 at Medicalodge Jackson County. She was born October 4, 1919 in Netawaka, KS the daughter of Hans C. and Mary E. (Tietgen) Christensen.

Leane attended Netawaka Country School and graduated from Fairview High School. Before she had her two daughters, she worked for John Morrell meat packaging plant in Topeka. Leane became a homemaker once her daughters were born. She later was a substitute cook for Mayetta School District and worked on the Election Board.  She was a member of the Mayetta Christian Church, 4 Korner Klub (since 1950) and O.E.S. of Mayetta #383- Past Matron, Worthy Matron and Secretary.

Leane married Eldon L. Ray on October 21, 1944 in Kingman, AZ. He survives. Other survivors include her 2 daughters, Wilma Sue Harding (Glenn) of Topeka and Alma June Morse (Bob) of Mayetta; 4 grandchildren, Matthew Harding (Shelley), Scott Harding (Tara), Robert M. Morse II (Crystyl) and Jennifer Morse Greene (Casey) and 8 great grandchildren, Abbigail & Haley Harding, Cyrus & Xander Harding, Angelina, Alyssa & Adrianna Morse and Penelope Greene.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Norma Christensen.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2013 at the Mayetta Christian Church. Burial will be in the Mayetta Cemetery.
