Wilda Lucile Lanter

Wilda Lucile Lanter, 92, of Everest, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at the Tri-County Manor in Horton, Kansas. She was born on July 14, 1919 in Nemaha County near Vermillion, Kansas the daughter of Earl and Della Critchfield Law. She moved with her parents to Atchison County when she was two years old where she attended schools and graduated from A.C.C.H.S. She then went on to earn a normal training teacher's certificate. Wilda then taught school for four years at the Pleasant Ridge School in Atchison County. On May 15, 1941 she married Robert Lanter in Topeka, Kansas. She then became a homemaker and worked as a sales clerk at Eyer's Market and Ray Linch's Grocery for a number of years. Wilda was a member of the Everest Christian Church and the Christian Women's Fellowship. She also enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting and reading. Survivors include a daughter, Kay (Duane) Rowe of Topeka, Kansas; son, Keith (Lynn) Lanter of rural Horton, Kansas; two grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert on June 30, 1990 and a brother, Milton Law. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time on Saturday.
