Betty E. Powers, 78, of Atchison died Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at her residence in Mall Towers.

Funeral services have been changed to 10:30 am on Thursday, May 1^st, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating. The body will be cremated following the service and inurnment will be at a later date at the Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Wednesday, April 30^th, 2014 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Betty Elizabeth Bouley was born on Dec. 26, 1935 in Nearman, KS. the daughter of Francis William and Virginia Alta (Gilmore) Bouley. She attended schools in Willis, KS. and worked as a certified nurse’s aide in Atchison Senior Village and for many years at Atchison Medicalodge. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed collecting Indian dolls and especially her grandchildren.

She was married to Alan D. Powers on Sept.19, 1990 in Atchison, KS. Mr. Powers preceded her in death on May 15, 1996. Survivors include a son, Francis (Gail) Flory, Atchison, KS., four daughters, Karen (Mike) Penning, Atchison, KS., Alta Harris, Atchison, KS., Jeanette Flory (Jack Artman, Jr.) Rushville, MO., Bridgett Flory, Atchison KS., a brother, Raymond (Jean) Bouley, Barnes, WY., three sisters, Mary Jane Griffin, Atchison, KS., Virginia Schuetz (Richard) Old, Bonner Springs, KS., Frances M. (Roger) Jeffrey, Everest, KS., fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
