Leon Henry Deters, 57, died on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Life Care Center in Seneca. He was born on April 11, 1957 to Urban Deters and Charlotte (Sperfslage) Deters. He attended Nemaha Valley Grade School and graduated from Nemaha Valley High School.
He worked many different jobs throughout his life. He helped on the family farm and cut firewood for many people. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his sister, Rose (Jerry) Mueting of Seneca; brothers, Richard (Karlene) Deters of Havensville, Rene Deters and James Deters both of Sabetha, Nicholas (Mary) Deters of Baileyville, Kevin (Ann) Deters of Seneca, Jean (Rose Mary) Deters of Sabetha and Ervin (Amy) Deters of Fairview, 15 nephews, 9 nieces and 2 great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lisa Deters.

Rosaries were prayed on Sunday May 4, 2014 at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Father Clayton, on Monday, May 5, 2014 at St Augustine Catholic Church, Fidelity. Servers were Michael Deters, Erin Deters, Anthony Deters and Paul Deters. Lector was Ann Deters. Gift bearers were Kevin Deters and Ervin Deters. Communion minister was Judy Deters. Pall bearers were Brent Mueting, Brad Mueting, Mark Deters, John Deters, Adam Deters, Jeremy Deters, Dave Deters, Matt Deters and Ryan Deters.
