Barbara Osterhaus
Seneca, KS

 Barbara M. Haug Osterhaus, 81, of Seneca died on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Crestview Manor and Residential Living in Seneca.
She was born in Seneca on July 23, 1930 the daughter of Omer and Lucille Noll Haug. Bobbie attended Sts. Peter and Paul schools and graduated in 1948. After graduating, she went to work for the Nemaha County Coop in Seneca.  For a short time she babysat prior to being employed at Nemaha Valley Hospital, as a cook in the dietary department.
On June 27, 1955 she married Gilbert B. Osterhaus at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca.  The couple made their home in Seneca where they raised eight children and celebrated 56 years of marriage. Gilbert preceded her in death just eleven days prior, on February 21, 2012.
Bobbie loved to read, do ceramic, play cards, search a word puzzles and play scrabble. She enjoyed raising a garden and canning the fruits of her labor for her family.
She is survived by her six sons, Tom Osterhaus of Seneca, Ben Osterhaus of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Dave Osterhaus of Houston, Texas, Dean Osterhaus of Wetmore, Brian Osterhaus and Cory Osterhaus both of Seneca; two daughters, Marlene Ferguson of Hutchison, Kansas and Gail Lintner of Cameron, Missouri; nine sisters, Sister Dominic Haug of Manhattan, Kansas, Sister Connie Haug of Great Bend, Dora Cross of Centralia, Gerriann Henry of Kansas City, Missouri, Jeanne Heiman of Wichita, Sue Haug of Seneca, Mary Haug of Hiawatha, Regina (Danni) Aldrine of Topeka and Cathie Wynkoop of Topeka; two brothers, Larry Haug and Mike Haug, both of Seneca; and 14 grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, Omer E. on March 21, 1991; her mother, Lucille M. on September 13, 2006; her brothers, Omer “Cotton” on February 16, 2007 and Ronald “George” Haug on April 29, 2011; and an infant sister Theresa.
Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 7 PM on Wednesday, March 7th, at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca. 
Memorials may be left in Bobbie’s memory to Sts. Peter & Paul and Crestview Manor.
