Gladys M. Forst, 88, of Marysville, KS, passed away May 16, 2014 at Cambridge Place in Marysville.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville.

A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 23, at St. Gregory's.

Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Frankfort.

Gladys was born January 18, 1926 to Anthony (Tony) and Elizabeth (Heinen) Wilhelm at Kelly, KS. She attended grade school at Kelly and graduated from St. Peter & Paul Catholic High School in Seneca, KS.

On April 20, 1963 she married David Forst at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. They started their married life together farming near Westmoreland, KS. In 1971, they moved to the St. George/Wamego area where they lived for the next 35 years. In August of 2006, due to David’s health, they moved to Marysville.

Prior to her marriage, Gladys worked for Robinson Lawn and Golf Corse, Kansas City, MO, Marysville Community Hospital, and Lanning & Drumm Law Office, Seneca. Once her children were older she worked for USD #323 (St. George/Westmoreland) for several years until retiring in 1990.

Gladys was a 50 year plus member of the Daughters of Isabelle. She enjoyed gardening, working in her flower beds and embroidery work.

She is preceded in death by her husband, David; parents; brother and sister-in-law; Lester and Virginia Wilhelm; and nephew, Robert (Bob) Wilhelm.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna (Steve) Grubaugh, Berryton, KS; son, Jerry (Theresa) Forst, Marysville, KS; three grandchildren: Coleman Forst, Elizabeth Grubaugh and Michaela Forst; sister and brother-in-law, Elda Rose and Mark Koch, Marysville; and four nieces and five nephews.

A memorial fund has been established to St. Columbkille Parish Hall, Blaine, KS, St. Gregory’s Catholic Church or Meadowlark Hospice. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
