Darrell R. "Ni Ka Na Sh" Masqua, Aka the "Professor" or "Perry Mason" 60, of Topeka, Kansas passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on May 16, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Sylvester and Geraldine Shopteese Masqua. Darrell graduated from Oskaloosa High School and attended two years of college. After college he served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Berkeley and USS Kawishiwi. He worked as a Med-Aid at various nursing homes in Topeka and Holton. Darrell was a member of the Kickapoo Tribe and Drum Religion. He is survived by a brother, Cheeg Wa Masqua of Horton, Kansas; four sisters, Lynia "Cham" Eagle of Horton, Kansas, Lilly (Robert) Hall of Mayetta, Kansas, Deniece Masqua of Horton, Kansas and Gina (Jr.) Wahweotten of Mayetta, Kansas; numerous nieces and nephews; uncles, Steve Cadue and Thomas Cadue; aunt, Angie Cadue Drum services will be at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at the Kickapoo Community Building on the Kickapoo Reservation. Burial will at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday at the Kennekuk Cemetery. Friends may call anytime Monday at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas.
