Sterling Wittwer, age 85, of Humboldt, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, at the Four-Mile Congregational Church rural Humboldt, with Pastor Ron Russell officiating.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23, at The Wherry Mortuary in Humboldt. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.  

Military honors will be conducted by the Nebraska Army Honor Guard and the DuBois American Legion.

Inurnment will be at the Humboldt Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family’s choice.

Sterling is survived by his wife Lois Wittwer of Omaha; and daughters Nancy Wittwer of Omaha, Donna Fankhauser and her husband Mike of Mountain View, AK, and Jo Anne Wittwer of Nebraska City.
