Mary J. McAlexander, 72, of Holton, KS passed away May 21, 2014 at Medicalodge Jackson County. She was born November 14, 1941 in Holton the daughter of Charles and Maye (Suttles) King.

Mary worked as a cashier at A & B Grocery in Denison and Ron’s IGA in Holton. She was also a cashier at Wal-Mart in Holton, retiring after 15 years of service.

Mary married Harold McAlexander on June 28, 1958 in Miami, OK. He survives of the home. Other survivors include 2 sons, Rick McAlexander of Denison and Marty McAlexander (Trish) of Holton; a daughter, Pamela Stotts of Holton; 2 sisters, Dixie Haag and Betty Estes (Ron) both of Holton; a brother, Charlie King (Ethel Ann) of Holton; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Denise McAlexander, a sister, Frances Richards and a brother, Kenneth King.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 26, 2014 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Family will greet friends from 10:30 a.m. Monday until service time. Inurnment will be at a later date.
