Theresa M. Anderson, 76, Oskaloosa, died at her home. Theresa was found Saturday, May 24, 2014 by close friends. She was born June 9, 1937 at Mayetta,KS, the daughter of Charles and Goldie Stewart Pappan. She was a 1955 graduate of Circleville High School. She was married to Ralph Eugene Anderson on February 24, 1957, he preceded her in death on November 22, 1993. Theresa worked with Ralph in Anderson’s Body Shop and Anderson’s Saw Mill, both in Oskaloosa. She had previously worked at the Jefferson County Register of Deeds office before serving as a receptionist/secretary for Swoyer & Swoyer Attorneys in Oskaloosa for many years. Since 2006, she has worked as a receptionist and funeral assistant at Barnett Family Funeral Home. She was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomie Nation in Mayetta, embracing her Native American heritage. She served as a member and President of the Pleasant View Cemetery Board of Directors. Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, one son, Michael L. Anderson in 2008, one daughter, Brenda Lee Anderson in 2011, and two sisters, Sharon McClane in 2004 and an infant sister. Survivors include one brother, Don Pappan, Topeka, three sisters, Dorothy Simon, Netawaka, Geraldine Hamlin, Hoyt, Charlene Anderson, Hoyt, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, A "sister", Patty Law, Meriden, a circle of close friends and a large community of friends who loved her. Services will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 2,at the Barnett Family Funeral Home, Oskaloosa. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery, next to her family.Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, Sunday, June 1, at the Funeral Home.
