Grace R. Boldridge, 97, of Atchison, KS, passed away, Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at the Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, MO.

Funeral Services will be 12:00 Noon, Monday, June 2, 2014 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Theodore Lee, officiating.  Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Atchison.   Family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.  The family suggests memorial contributions in honor of Mrs. Boldridge be made to the Campbell Chapel AME Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.  Words of remembrance and condolence may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.

Grace R. Beadles was born on November 4, 1916 in Leavenworth County, Kansas, the daughter of Edward and Lillian (Hildbrandt) Beadles.   She attended grade school in Leavenworth County, KS.  Grace and Walter Boldridge, Sr. were married on August 8, 1934 in Atchison.   Mr. Boldridge preceded her in death on February 15, 1993.  Mrs. Boldridge was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she worked making a home for her family.   Mrs. Boldridge was a member of the Campbell Chapel AME Church and she enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafts, building doll houses and fishing.  

Survivors include two sons, Walter E. Boldridge, Jr. and Michael (Carolyn) Boldridge, both of Atchison; six daughters, Delores Todd, Dover, DE, Yvonne Bennett, Topeka, Rita (George, Sr.) Kelley, Juanita Zishka, Barbara (John) Oliver and Rozetta (William)Thornton, all of Atchison; a sister, Esther (Maurice, Sr.) Jones, Topeka; step-sister, LaVeta Ferguson, Leavenworth; 22 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 58 years, Walter; daughter-in-law, Iva Leola Boldridge; son-in-laws, Norman Todd, Sr. and Roland Bennett, Sr.;  brothers, Kenneth and Edward Beadles; sisters, Mary Boldridge, Ruth Boldridge, Shirley Ferguson, Gloria Beadles, and Thelma Beadles;
