Edwin F. “Ed” Weinmann, 59, Atchison, Kansas died Saturday, May 31, 2014 at his home.

Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph Church with Abbot Barnabas Senecal, OSB as celebrant.  Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  A parish rosary will be recited on Tuesday, June 3rd at 6:30 P.M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with visitation with the family to follow until 8:00 P.M.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Maur Hill-Mount Academy School and may be left in care of the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left at www.arensbergpruett.com.

Ed was born September 2, 1954 the son of Louis and Virginia Antle Weinmann in Atchison, Kansas.  He attended St. Joseph Elementary School, graduating from Maur Hill Prep School.

Ed began his work with Arensberg IGA Grocery store in Atchison, was an emergency medical technician for the Atchison Fire Department and later became employed with Maur Hill Prep School in the maintenance department, through the years he also assisted with driving the school bus and numerous other general duties as well as assisting with maintenance and preparation of many sporting events at the school for thirty five years.

Ed and Marlene Underwood were united in marriage on April 18, 1975 at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Roderic Giller, OSB presiding.

Ed was a member of St. Benedict Parish in Atchison.  In his free time he enjoyed fishing, woodworking and he was an avid fan of Chiefs football.

Survivors include his wife Marlene Weinmann, of the couples home, two sons, Scott (Elizabeth) Weinmann, Platte City, MO, David Weinmann, Atchison, KS, two daughters, Kimberly (Todd) Dove, Atchison, KS, Marjorie Weinmann, Atchison, KS, two brothers, Dennis Weinmann, Atchison, KS, Brother Robert Weinmann, Austin, TX, three sisters, Sharon Meier, Atchison, KS, Alice Scott, Atchison, KS, Deborah Schneider, Atchison, KS and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
