Donna Faye (Myer) Johnson, 83, of Holton, died Monday, June 23 at the Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, from injuries sustained in an auto accident near their home on Sunday, June 22.

Donna was born Dec. 4, 1930, the third child of Herman and Ellen Myer of Soldier, Kan.  She  graduated from Soldier High School in 1948 and later obtained a Kansas teaching certificate through Kansas State University. She taught school at Pleasant Grove Country School in Jackson County, KS for three years.

Donna married Donald O. Johnson, Holton, on Aug. 5, 1951, at the First Christian Church in Soldier. They settled on the Johnson farm on the Parallel Road, northwest of Holton. She was a homemaker and mother to four children. Don and Donna have been members of the First Christian Church in Holton since 1952.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald O. Johnson.  Children are Alan (Mary Ann) Johnson, Topeka; Connie Taylor, LaVista, NE.; Michael "Mike" (Kim) Johnson, Fairway, KS; and Susan Johnson, Holton. Her family includes seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She also is survived by brothers Norman (Sallie) Myer, Topeka; Carroll Myer, Overland Park, KS; and a sister, Velma (John) Mullen, Albuquerque, NM

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 26th at the First Christian Church in Holton.  Burial will follow in the Holton Cemetery.  Donna will lie in state at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton where family and friends will meet from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.  The casket will remain closed.  Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 1034, Holton, 66436.  On-line condolences may be made at chapeloaksfuneralhome.com
