Pawnee City Council OKs Lighting for Veteran's Monument, Pay Raise for Library Staff
The Pawnee City, City Council, Monday night gave permission for a committee looking to erect a veteran’s memorial to tie into the city’s electrical system to power a light to shine on the monument.

The City Council approved the committee’s request unanimously Monday night.
In other business Monday, the Pawnee City Council approved a three-percent pay raise for Head Librarian Lola Seitz and Assistant Librarian Karen Richardson, retroactive to the end of December.
The council approved a payment of $18,573 to McNealy Construction for work on a Housing Rehab Project, and payment to the Southeast Nebraska Development District for work on the Housing Study Planning Grant.
Shop Foreman Inglis informed the council that a leak at the City Pond had been fixes, and a curb drainage project at 3rd and I Street was finished.
The council also decided to keep 7.3 acres of land around the city’s well field in the CRP Program for another year.
