The Peru State College baseball team kept their post-season hopes alive Monday night, with a doubleheader sweep of Benedictine College in Heart of America Athletic Conference play.
In game one, four Peru State runs in the bottom of the third inning were the difference, as the Bobcats won 6-3. Will Scott pitched a complete game for the win to improve to 6-3 on the year.
Peru State dominated game two, 9-0. Bryan Duncan was the winning pitcher, throwing a complete game two-hitter to improve to 5-2.
With the wins, Peru State evened its conference record at 8-8, moving into fourth place in the HAAC Western Division. Peru State is now 24-13 on the season.
The Bobcats host Avila University today (Wednesday) in a doubleheader that was rained out Saturday.
