Sullivan Challenges Smith for Nebraska 3rd District Seat
A last minute decision has given Third District Nebraska Congressman Adrian Smith a challenger this year.
Democrat Mark Sullivan says he decided to file just before the deadline when he noticed that Congressman Smith, a Republican, was running unopposed for reelection. (play audio :17)
Sullivan, of Doniphan, is a fourth generation farmer who says he’s running to end partisan gridlock in Washington. He says the failure to pass the Farm Bill illustrates his point about what’s wrong with Congress. (play audio :20)
Though he’s a Democrat, Sullivan says he believes that elected officials should represent their constituents, not their party.
