(KNZA)--Veteran's Day commemorations are planned across the local area. including the annual Veteran's Day Parade in Horton Sunday afternoon.

The weather forecast does call for the possibility of Sunday morning rain; but, with the parade set to start at 3:30 in the afternoon, the parade should go on as planned. However, McClaskey says planners will monitor the situation, and let this radio station know if there's a change to the schedule(Play Audio)
Also on Sunday, Holton will hold a Veteran's Day Dinner at the Jackson County Fair building.
Featuring baked ham, the 6:00 event, sponsored by the VFW and the ladies auxillary, will include music by the Fairlawn Swing Band.
Another dinner will be held by the Powhattan Wenger Post #373, beginning at 6:30 at the post home in Powhattan. Those attending should bring a covered dish.
The day prior to Veterans Day, the Seneca American Legion will hold a Veteran's Day smoked pork chop dinner.
Set for Saturday evening at 5:00, at the Legion Hall on Main Street in Seneca, the dinner will cost $8.00 for those who attend.
