(KTNC) - Approximately 20 people attended a meeting in Reserve last week to discuss an ongoing problem with trespassing and thefts in rural parts of Richardson and Brown Counties, to gauge interest in forming a neighborhood watch organization.
People at the meeting expressed concern as to why more couldn’t be done about the matter. Most of the people who attended the meeting have had property stolen.
Representatives from the Sac and Fox Police and Iowa Tribal Police were at the meeting.
Authorities have suggested that rural residents concerned about thieves should install video surveillance cameras, or “black-out” cameras, which do not emit a flash when capturing images.
Meeting organizers plan to hold another meeting, though a time has not been set for that.
