(KMZA)--A bench warrant is issued for the Oregon truck driver accused of providing a 16-year-old Sabetha teen with a ride from Nebraska City to Brownville, Oregon last month.

According to Richard Wijers, Deputy District Attorney for Linn County, Oregon,

43-year-old Shane Snodgrass failed to appear in court Wednesday for a planned hearing.

Because of that, the bench warrant was filed.

Snodgrass is charged under Oregon law with custodial interference in the first degree for allowing 16-year-old Kristina Richey to travel to his Oregon home with him.

She was apparently planning to stay with his child, who was a former classmate of Kristina's, during the time that Snodgrass and his family lived in the Brown County community of Morrill.

Kristina apparently drove to Nebraska City on the night of December 7th, abandoning her car in a parking lot, and then met Snodgrass for the prearranged ride to Oregon.

He was located in Oregon December 11th  through use of GPS data, which then led authorities to Kristina who was unharmed and staying with her friend, as she had planned.

She had failed to gain her parents permission for the trip, and Snodgrass also failed to talk to them to get their ok,  leading to his charge.

He was taken into custody, but conditionally released several hours later, once the January 9th court date had been set.

Following his failure to appear, authorities are once again seeking the whereabouts of Snodgrass.
