(KLZA)--Topeka newlyweds that spent Valentine's Day behind bars following their alleged involvement in a string of violent crimes, appeared in Johnson County, Nebraska Court Wednesday.
33-year-old Michael Engstrom and 34-year-old Jaime Engstrom were both ordered to be held without bond.
Johnson County Attorney Julie Smith has not yet formally filed charges, but they will likely be filed before the couple's next scheduled court appearance in Johnson County, on March 13th.
Michael Engstrom is a suspect in a February 13th afternoon murder in Topeka, Kansas, which also involved the shooting of a woman who was left injured.
That night, he allegedly robbed the Casey’s General Store in Pawnee City, Nebraska before being involved in a high speed pursuit and multiple shootouts involving the Nebraska State Patrol and officers from the Johnson County Nebraska Sheriff’s Department.
Engstrom was arrested near St. Mary’s, Nebraska after the car he and his wife were in, along with a 14 year old juvenile female, became stuck in a field. The teen is identified as Jaime Engstrom's daughter.
A Johnson County Deputy suffered a bullet wound during the incident.
The Engstrom's both face multiple felony charges in Johnson County alone.
On Tuesday, Michael Engstrom was formally charged in Pawnee County, Nebaska with two weapons counts and one count of robbery, while she was charged with robbery.
They face Shawnee County charges related to the shooting and homicide.
