(KTNC) - The Falls City Educational Foundation will award 26 scholarships to Falls City High School graduates this spring, totaling $34,750.
The Foundation is offering the $3,500 Downey Scholarship this year.  That goes to a graduating senior and can be used at any trade school, college or university.
There are four scholarships designated for those planning to attend a trade school or two-year college, and 17 scholarships designated for those planning to attend a four-year college or university.
Three of the scholarships are new this year.  Those are the Ralph and Erna Barker Scholarship, worth $3,000; the Brenner Twins Memorial Scholarship, for $2,000; and the $500 Delpha Yoder Findley Memorial Scholarship.
A new scholarship is also being offered for past Falls City High School graduates.  The Betty Schawang scholarships are for students who are in their sophomore, junior, or senior year at a four-year college or university and have a grade-point-average of at least 3.0.  There are four Schawang Scholarships available, each for $2,500.  Preference will be given to students majoring in an agricultural field of study.
Applications for all Falls City Educational Foundation scholarships can be found online at the Falls City High School Guidance Counselor’s website.
