( KNZA )--A Highland man is now set to appear in a Doniphan County courtrooom April 24th on charges in connection with events surrounding a suspicious death.
51-year-old Morton Alfrey is appear for both a preliminary hearing and arraignment on charges of felony aggravated intimidation of a witness, felony obstruction of apprehension or prosecution, and misdemeanor unlawfully hosting minors consuming alcoholic beverages.
The charges arise from a party that authorities say was held at Alfrey’s home the night of January 5th, which allegedly included several minors consuming alcohol. A Highland police officer responding to a call at the residence found the body of 30-year-old John Paul Jenkins.
Alfrey was arrested by the Highland Police Department on January 23rd.
He remains in the Doniphan County Jail on 200-thousand dollars bond.
