Missouri Election Results

(KTNC) - A few contested races and local propositions were decided in northwest Missouri Municipal elections Tuesday. 
 In Holt County, Kristine Gibson was reelected to a two-year term on the Mound City Board of Aldermen.  Mound City voters approved a 30-cent levy for street lighting.
 Rhonda Hunziger was elected mayor of Craig, with 47 votes.  Challenger Mitchell Longcor received 15 votes.  Mark Russell won a close race for mayor of Maitland, with 53 votes, to 45 votes for Ed Dearmont.
 In school board races, Robert Gibson and Mitchell Corbin won three-year terms on the Mound City R-2 School Board.  Dean Biermann was elected to fill a one-year vacancy on the Craig R-3 School Board.  Rich Mendenhall and Terry Anderson were elected to seats on the South Holt R-1 School Board.
 Maitland voters approved two propositions on the ballot.  They overwhelmingly approved a 24-cent levy for general operations and street repairs, as well as a second proposition to have the Board of Aldermen appoint the County Collector as the collector of the city’s taxes.
 Big Lake residents approved a 30-cent levy for pumping and dredging expenses.  Voters in the South Union Township Special Road District approved an additional 35-cent levy.
 In Atchison County Missouri elections, Alva Stoner was elected Mayor of Fairfax with 60 votes, to 28 for John Roop.
 Jeffrey Seaman handily won election as Mayor of Rock Port, with 180 votes, to 68 votes for Terry Eaton.
 School Board races saw Elaine Lewis and Brandon Oswald win election to the Rock Port School Board.
 Voters in Atchison County mostly approved renewing local tax levies.  Voters in Fairfax approved renewing the levy in that community, as did voters in the Village of Watson.  The Langdon Road Levy and Watson Road Levy were also approved.
 A Use Tax proposal in Tarkio was not approved, with 96 votes against the measure and 84 in favor.
 Eighteen percent of Holt County voters cast ballots in Tuesday’s election, as did 16-percent of voters in Atchison County.
 Election results are unofficial until they are canvassed by County Commissioners.
