(KTNC) - The Nebraska LEAD program is recruiting its 33rd class, which will begin this fall.  LEAD is an acronym, standing for Leadership Education Action Development.  It was founded by the Nebraska Agricultural Leadership Council in 1981.

Up to 30 people, from all parts of the state, will be accepted for the program.  Participants must be involved in farming, ranching, or agribusiness, complete a written application, and interview with a screening committee.
Hejny says the application involves some open-ended questions, requires two personal and two professional references, and includes a $2500 fee for the two-year program.  He explains what participants will do as part of the class.  (play audio   :40)
The application deadline to participate in LEAD class 33 is June 15.  For more information, contact Terry Hejny at 402-472-6810, or e-mail
