(KNZA)--An 86-year-old Mayetta man requires hospital treatment following a two vehicle, Jackson County crash Wednesday afternoon.
According to Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse, it happened at the intersection of 110th Road and U.S. Highway 75 when a pick-up truck, westbound on 110th Road, was struck by a southbound car, on Highway 75, driven by Mayetta resident Merill Hinkle.
Emergency crews, including the Hoyt Fire Department and the Mayetta Fire Department, rushed to the scene where Hinkle was extricated from the wreckage of his car. He was then transported from the scene by Jackson County EMS and taken to Topeka's Stormont Vail Hospital with what Morse identifies as disabling injuries.
The driver of the pick-up, identified as 59-year-old Hoyt resident Bradley Hamilton, was not hurt.
Morse says the crash remains under investigation.
