( KMZA )-Nemaha County’s recent tax sale brought in more than $26,000, with bids totaling nearly $17,000 and back taxes of nearly 97-hundred dollars.
19 tracts that had delinquent taxes were offered for sale to the highest bidder last Thursday at the county courthouse in Seneca.
County Attorney Brad Lippert told county commissioners Monday that the sale went really well with only two parcels not selling, which were both mineral rights.
Most of the tracts consisted of undeveloped lots in the smaller towns.
Successful bidders on each tract also took responsibility for 2010, 2011 and 2012 taxes, which in some cases totaled as much as the auction price.
Nemaha County last held a tax sale in 2006.
