05/13/2013

(KTNC) - Guilty on all counts.  That was the verdict of a Pawnee County District Court jury against a DuBois man, who had been accused of stealing thousands of dollars from his elderly uncle.
The jury deliberated for three hours, 45-minutes, before finding Lewis Rakosnik (rock-a-snick) guilty of all 39 charges against him.
The charges include 33 counts of Knowing and Intentional Abuse of a Vulnerable Adult, two counts of Attempted Theft by Deception, and four counts of Attempted Abuse of a Vulnerable Adult.
Authorities say Rakosnik stole several hundred thousand dollars from his uncle over a span of 11-months.  He was arrested in January 2012, following a five-month Nebraska State Patrol investigation.
Sentencing was scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on July 8th in Pawnee County District Court.
