(KNZA)--Two separate arrests are made in recent days by Jackson County authorities, related to thefts and burglaries occurring in the local area.

Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse says the first arrest was made Friday, when Horton resident Curtis Lowe Simon was taken into custody. The 34-year-old was arrested after deputies were called to a residence, east of U.S. Highway 75 and 134th Road, in regards to the burglary of a shed.

Simon was located, arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail on a charge of burglary.

Morse says the second case involves Sunday's arrest of a 24-year-old Holton man on charges of burglary, possession of stolen property, felony and misdemeanor counts of theft, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia.

Kyle Lee Tyler was arrested in connection with the investigation of the burglary and related thefts of a Holton storage unit as well as a number of auto-related burglaries in Holton.

Morse says Tyler was located outside of Holton, allegedly in possession of a large amount of property reported as stolen. That followed the execution of a search warrant, assisted by Holton Police, at a residence located at 110 Pennsylvania last week.

Morse says the property is related to five seperate police cases.

Tyler was booked into the Jackson County Jail where he's held on bond of $5,000.
