Holt Co Commission Hire Firm to Conduct Audit
05/30/2013

(KTNC) - Holt County Commissioners recently approved a bid from a Kansas City firm to conduct an audit of county funds.  The commission approved a bid from McBride, Lock and Associates in the amount of $18,556, to conduct a two-year audit of county funds, including a federal A-133 audit.
Commissioners also accepted a bid from another Kansas City company for a new dump truck bed.  The bid from American Equipment Company was $17,491, and was one of four bids received.
It was not the lowest bid, but commissioners accepted it because it most closely matched the county’s needs.
Holt County Commissioners have also agreed to set up a separate bank account for the Health Department.  County Clerk Kathy Kunkel explains that the account was set up to comply with new Medicare reimbursement rules.  (play audio  :46)
All expenditures will continue to be presented to the County Clerk’s office for payment and approval of the County Commission.
Sheriff Scott Wedlock also informed Commissioners recently that an old Durango in the department’s vehicle fleet would be sold at auction through Laukemper Motors.  Plans are also being made to sell the other Durango at auction.
