Governor Ends Nebraska Legislative Session

(KTNC) - Governor Dave Heineman bid good-bye to the Nebraska Legislature in a speech Wednesday, the final day of the 90-day session.
 Heineman praised lawmakers for the work they accomplished, especially on agreeing to a two-year budget.  (play audio  :23   “the cash reserve.”)
 In addition to the state budget, Heineman praised the legislature for passage of three tax reform bills and a juvenile justice reform bill.   (play audio  :14    “families involved.”)
 The governor also praised the legislature for one thing it didn’t do.  (play audio   :23    “children’s education.”)
 The governor says tax reform will be the top issue in the 2014 legislative session.
