(KTNC) - Motorists in southeast Nebraska should be on the lookout for maintenance projects scheduled to begin in the next few days on area roadways, according to the Nebraska Department of Roads.
A fog seal project is to begin this week on Highway 105 near Johnson. State workers will do the work from the junction of Highways 136 and 105 south to west of Humboldt. The work is expected to take three or four days to complete. The road will be narrowed to one lane around the work zones and motorists should expect delays.
Another fog seal project is scheduled to begin next week on Spur 64 E – or the Indian Cave Spur – north of Shubert.
The work will be done from reference post 0 to reference post 4 and is expected to take two days to complete. That road will also be narrowed to one lane while the work is done with a pilot car and flaggers present.
A fog seal is oil sprayed on the surface of a newer road to seal the fine cracks in the road.
