(KTNC) - Winners have been announced in this year’s Heritage Highway photography contest. Heritage Highway 136 announced the winners earlier this month during a reception in Fairbury.
First place went to Natsha Hahn for her photo entitled, “Morning Rise.” Second place went to Bernadette Korslund for her photograph, “Mist in the Morn.” Dennis Mahin won third place for his photo entitled “Webster County Winter.” The viewer’s choice award went to Barb Kundra for her photo, “Republican River Gold.”
Nebraska’s Heritage Highway is a 238-mile stretch of Highway 136, extending from Brownville along the banks of the Missouri River westward to Edison. The highway cuts a path across a section of Nebraska that features restored buildings, a riverboat, community theatres, museums, vintage hotels, and historic churches – which set the stage for a variety of magnificent photographs.
Contest photos are presently on display at the Main Street Center in downtown Fairbury. The exhibit will also be on display at the Thayer County Fair, and photos can be viewed online at www.HeritageHighway136.com and on Nebraska’s Heritage Highway Facebook page.
The Heritage Highway photo contest is held every other year, so travelers along the route are encouraged to start collecting photos for the 2014-2015 contest.
