(KTNC) - The Pawnee Manor will host a Health Fair this Friday at the Pawnee Village Community Room in Pawnee City.
The theme of the Health Fair is “Healthy at Every Age.” Karen Richardson, the Social Services Director at the Pawnee Manor, says they want to highlight health services available locally to people of all ages. (play audio :29)
The Health Fair begins at 9:30 a.m. and continues until 3:30 p.m. There will be several presentations of interest to people. Richardson highlights a couple, including presentations at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. by Bobbie Kierstead of the Senior Health Insurance Program, who will discuss Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D. Serena Reeves from the State Department of Health and Human Services will be available to discuss Medicaid and the Medicaid Waiver Program, which allows health older residents to obtain healthcare services in their homes. (play audio :28)
Also at the health fair, Beatrice Home Health will be on hand to do blood pressure checks; the Pawnee City Rural Health Clinic and Memorial Hospital will discuss the preventive services offered in the community; and a representative from AceraCare Hospice will be available to discuss hospice services.
Richardson says they will also have information about the Assisted Living Facility that will be built soon in Pawnee City. (play audio :16)
There will also be snacks and drinks available throughout the day, and drawings for various door prizes. There is no charge for admission to the Pawnee Manor Health Fair, and no charge to register for the drawings.
