(KLZA) The public is invited to attend a dedication ceremony at the Nemaha County Veterans Memorial in the American Legion Park in Auburn on Saturday, June 22nd at 2 p-m.
The ceremony will honor Army Green Beret Sgt. Jason Palmerton who was killed in Afghanistan in 2005.
The Special Forces Green Berets and members of his squad have officially named their camp “Camp Palmerton” and are presenting Jason’s family with a bronze plaque to commemorate the official naming.
Members of Sgt. Palmerton’s Green Beret Squad have just returned to the States from Afghanistan and will be arriving in Auburn on Saturday at 2 p-m to dedicate the official naming of the camp to his family.
If it rains the dedication will be held at the American Legion Building at 909 I Street.
The public is invited to attend the dedication and meet the members of Sgt. Palmerton’s Green Beret squad. Following the ceremony there will be refreshments and a video of Sgt. Palmerton and the Green Berets at the American Legion Club.
