Atchison Hospital Partners with Komen Foundation for Special Program

 ( KAIR )--In an effort to promote early detection in fighting breast cancer, The Atchison Hospital partnered with the Susan G. Komen for The Cure Foundation Thursday night in putting on a special program, called “Party of Eight, Your Table is Ready”.

 About 180 guests were invited to the program, which took place at Elizabeth's in Atchison.

Breast cancer survivor and ambassador for the Komen for the Cure Foundation, Brandi Palmer, served as the event's keynote speaker.

 Palmer gave a personal account of her journey with cancer, drawing both tears and laughter from the audience.

Teresa Osenbaugh is the Community Outreach Manager for Susan G. Komen Greater Kansas City. Osenbaugh says research has improved survival rates...  (Audio continues)

Thursday evening's program also included a speech from Dr. John Eplee, whose wife Deborah, is a four-year breast cancer survivor.
