Last Minute Decision Means July Jubilee Entertainment
07/01/2013

(KNZA)--An unexpected change for Saturday's July Jubilee in Holton is, in the words of  Holton/Jackson County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jamie Claycamp, being embraced with great enthusiasm.

We told you earlier that, due to budget constraints, musical entertainment was not part of the lineup this year.

Now, that's changed, with the band Zero Discipline set to perform at Banner Creek Resevoir Saturday night.

That happens due to the work of bass player, and Holton resident, Larry Hundley, who, late last week, took the idea to Claycamp.  She, in turn, gained approval through committee leadership, and now Zero Discipline is set to perform, at no cost, from 6:30 to 9:30 Saturday night at shelter house number 3 near the swim beach on the northside of Banner Creek Reservoir.

Claycamp says, due to the band's willingness to perform at no cost, the entire July Jubilee is free for those who attend.

However, despite the free admission, the event, due to the pricetag of fireworks for the planned nighttime display, comes with a cost.

In order to help cover that expense, Claycamp says volunteers will be located at the north and south entrance gates collecting a free will donation from those who attend.
