Falls City Council Expected to Act on Utility Rate Study Monday Night

 (KLZA) Two meetings are planned for the Falls City Council Monday.  The first meeting will begin at 5 p-m in the Council Chambers to allow the Council to hear the results of a utility rate study presented by John Krajewski.

During the regular meeting beginning at 7 p-m the Council is expected to take action on the first reading of ordinances on rates, fees and charges for the Electric, Gas, Sewer and Water Departments.

In other business during the regular meeting Council members will take action on a second reading of an ordinance on trees and clearance over streets, alleys and sidewalks in the city limits.

A request to build a metal building for a garage at 724 Fulton Street will be discussed as will an agreement between the City and the Falls City Chamber of Commerce.  

Other agenda items include action on a request to use the parking lot at Prichard Auditorium October 2nd for a household hazardous waste collection point from 1 – 3 p-m;  a request to use streets and parks for a fun run / walk on September 21st from the Community Medical Center Therapy Department and a request from the Grand Weaver Hotel to block 18th Street between Stone and the hotel parking lot on August 21st and 22nd from 7 a-m until 5 p-m to place a sign on the hotel.
