Richardson County Board Approves Three Year Re-appraisal Plan

 (KLZA) Richardson County Commissioners met as a Board of Equalization Tuesday.  During the meeting with Assessor Pam Vice Board members approved a three-year assessment plan which will now be submitted to the Nebraska Property Assessment and Taxation Department.

Under the plan the villages of Salem, Rulo, Preston and Barada totaling approximately 546 properties will be re-appraised in 2014.

Also in 2014 an agricultural land use update and market study using GIS data and physical inspection will be completed.

Rural and rural-residential class properties in Barada, Ohio, Arago, Salem, Falls City, Jefferson and Rulo townships totaling approximately 846 properties will also be re-assessed as time allows.

In 2015 approximately 661 residential properties in Humboldt and Verdon will be re-appraised.  In addition rural and rural-residential property re-appraisals will be completed in areas not completed in 2014. 

The process to re-appraised rural and rural-residential properties in the Franklin, Porter, East and West Muddy, Humboldt, Grant, Liberty, Speiser and Nemaha townships will begin.

In 2016 the rural and residential-rural properties will be completed and re-appraisal of all county commercial and industrial properties will begin.

All new county construction will be done each year and sales reviews in all classes will be completed each year.
