Falls City School Board Expected to Fill Vacancy Monday
08/09/2013

(KTNC) - The Falls City School Board will hold its regular August meeting Monday evening.
The meeting will begin a little earlier than normal, with a meet-and-greet planned for 6:30 p.m. with new district employees in the Middle School Commons.
The regular meeting begins at 7:00 p.m.
The board is expected to appoint someone to fill a board vacancy, created by the death of longtime member Kathy Bartek in June.  Four people applied for the position.  The board appeared to reach consensus during a special meeting last month to appoint Tedd Gilkerson to fill the position.
Other board action Monday night includes scheduling public hearings for the 2013-2014 budget and property tax request, approving a teacher contract, approving the final reading on revised policies, and approving revised social studies standards.
