(KTNC) - Women farmers and ranchers, and women who become farmers, are invited to participate in one of several workshops designed for women who are exploring a career as a farmer or rancher.
The Center for Rural Affairs is sponsoring the workshops.
The first workshop, Farm Dreams, is an introductory discussion aimed at helping aspiring women farmers and ranchers focus their dream to an achievable goal and identify financial resources. It will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, August 24, at the Syracuse Public Library.
The second workshop, Business Planning for Agriculture, is an advanced planning course meant to help women farmers and ranchers start developing a business plan. That workshop will be held Saturday, August 31, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the Webermeier Public Library in Milford.
Those interested in attending one or both of the workshops should contact Virginia Meyer at 402-687-2103, extension 1014, or e-mail virginiam@cfra.org.
Participants should RSVP two days before the workshop so lunch can be provided for all participants.
