Broxterman Estate Funds Requested for Sabetha EMS Building
08/15/2013

( KMZA )--Broxterman Estate Funds, left to Nemaha County, are being requested to help with the construction of a new Sabetha EMS building.

Representatives of the city of Sabetha and Sabetha EMS met with the county commission this week to make the request.

A portion of the funds left to the county by former Baileyville residents Leonard and Henrietta Broxterman were designated for the purpose of assisting emergency medical care.

Sabetha City Administrator Doug Allen said the city is considering three different sites for the about 60 by 80-foot facility, which has an estimated cost of $300,000.
The building would have the capacity to house 3 to 4 ambulances.

Sabetha EMS Director Ed Steinlage says they have run out of room at the current facility they share with the fire department.

The Commission said they would consider the request, but made no decision.
