Richardson Co Commission Open Bids for Armory Roof Project
09/12/2013

(KLZA) -- Richardson County Commissioners Tuesday opened sealed bids for the re-roofing of the Armory building.  Four bids were received from companies in Nebraska City,  St. Joseph, Missouri and Fremont, Nebraska.  The bid amounts vary depending on the scope of the work to be done.

The bids are available for review at the Richardson County Clerk’s Office.  They will be reviewed further before the contract is awarded.

A request to rent the armory for a Company B National Guard reunion was removed. The group has made plans to hold the reunion at another location.

County Treasurer Austin Duerfeldt met with Commissioners regarding a tax list correction from 2011 that has not yet been refunded to the taxpayer.  Commissioners approved the payment as presented by Deputy County Treasurer Amanda Young.

Treasurer Duerfeldt also requested approval to have Jackie Smith, former Otoe County Treasurer assist his office for about 7 days.  Commissioners approved the request based on the current contract Richardson County has with Mrs. Smith.  Discussion was also held on the current computer software being used in the Treasurers Office.

The final audit report for the fiscal year that ended June 30th was submitted to the Board by the Nebraska State Auditor.  The report is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office or online at www.auditors.nebraska.gov.

Emergency Management Director Jim Gerweck and Deputy Director Brian Dixon met with Commissioners reporting the repeater was moved by the Sheriff. Gerweck expressed some concerns he has with the placement of the equipment that was moved.

Sheriff Randy Houser was present for part of the meeting and stated the license was modified and approval was received from the State Radio Coordinator to proceed with the move of the radio repeater which was done by a communications contractor.  Sheriff Houser reported the radio reception is much better following the move.
