(KTNC) - A prominent social entrepreneur and the founder of the world’s first peer-to-peer micro-lending website headline this year’s Peru State College Distinguished Speaker Series.
The first presentation is Monday, October 7, with Kohl Crecilius, a social entrepreneur and co-founder of Krochet Kids International. Krochet Kids was founded in 2007 as a non-profit lifestyle brand, focused on empowering communities and engaging customers to make a sustainable impact on global poverty.
The second presentation will be Monday, April 7, with Jessica Jackley, the founder and former Chief Marketing Officier of the peer-to-peer micro-lending website KIVA.
Since it was founded in 2005, KIVA has loaned more than $400 million from lenders to entrepreneurs in 206 countries.
Peru State President Dan Hanson says this year’s Distinguished Speaker Series will give students and the public a deeper understanding of social entrepreneurship on a global scale.
Both presentations will be held in the College Theater and will begin at 7:00 p.m. The presentations are free of charge and the public is encouraged to attend.
