Semi Truck Driver Injured in Jackson Co Accident

(KNZA)--A semi truck driver was injured Friday morning in a single-vehicle accident on U.S. 75 Highway in southern Jackson County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reports 68-year-old Richard Meyer, of Kansas City, Kansas, was traveling north when his semi loaded with crane booms drifted into the east ditch and crossed 102nd Road.  The vehicle continued north in the ditch and came to rest in a small drainage ditch.

Meyer was transported to Topeka’s Stormont Vail Regional Health Center for treatment of injuries.

The accident was reported shortly before 10 Friday morning.
