Revised Seneca Neighborhood Revitalization Plan Adopted
(KMZA)--Any lot in Seneca will be eligible for tax rebates on improvements under a revised Neighborhood Revitalization Plan adopted by the City Council.
The plan was approved following a hearing Wednesday evening drawing no public comment.
First approved in March 2009, the current plan expires next year. it provides tax rebates for a specified number of years on improvements to residential, retail and commercial properties.
The revised plan, which is for 2014-2018, eliminates the requirement that residential improvements take place on lots that previously held a building that was demolished.
In other business, the council accepted a bid from Lozano Construction of Seneca for the replacement of the shingles on the hand dug well located in the Seneca City Park.
The company submitted two bids and the council opted to go with cedar shake shingles that are ¾ to 1 inch thick over ones that are ½ to ¾ inch thick for a cost of $11,198.
