(KAIR)--A little bit of Germany will be found in Atchison this weekend as the city is gearing up for it's 28th annual Oktoberfest event.
The Junior Guild is again sponsoring this year's event in which over 100 food and craft vendors will be present. Rita Hartman is the President of the Junior Guild, and she explains that proceeds from Oktoberfest stay in the city of Atchison, and go to support organizations such as the All Faith Counseling, the Red Cross, and the Salvation Army.
Hartman says there will be plenty of music and entertainment available that caters to a variety of musical tastes including Jim and Lynn Dixon with Lois Reed, Christian bands Over Our Heads and Ransom Jacob, and Elvis impersonator Gary Myer.
The Atchison YMCA gymnastics team will also be preforming, along with the Atchison Jazz Express.
Oktoberfest will take place on the pedestrian mall, located at 100 Commercial. It will start at 10:00 Saturday morning and end at 5:00 that afternoon.
