(KMZA)--Good news for the community of Seneca, now designated as an accredited National Main Street Program for 2013.
The distinction comes through the National Trust Main Street Center, and its partners.
The designation is awarded to those Main Street programs that have built strong revitalization organizations while demonstrating their ability to use the Main Street four-point approach for strengthening the local economy and protecting historical buildings.
Seneca Area Chamber of Commerce and Seneca Downtown Impact Board President Darrell Kohlman says Seneca Main Street was cited for meeting the challenges of the recesssion head on and partnering with local businesses to ensure Seneca's downtown area remains vibrant and sustainable.
