Vote Yes For 377 Committee Holding More Informative Meetings
10/08/2013

(KAIR)--This fall, voters in the Atchison county USD 377 school district will be voting on a bond issue that would provide funds to build a new kindergarten through 8th grade facility, as well as update the high school in the district.

The vote yes for 377 committee has been working hard to spread the word about the issue, as well as to answer any questions voters may have. The committee hosted an informational breakfast last month at the current elementary school, which attracted a good number of people interested in learning more about what the bond would do for the district.

Nancy Keith is a member of that committee and she wants to thank everyone that attended that first breakfast, but adds there are more informational breakfasts planned, including one in Muscotah on Saturday, October 19th at the city building. Members of the Muscotah votes yes for 377 committee will be on hand to serve biscuits and gravy and pancakes, as well as answering any questions that people may have.

Keith says the bond is meant to do a great service to the community, especially the kids who would be attending the renovated schools. She says it is to help the children to have an even better educational opportunity than they already have, as well as for all school buildings to have modern, secure entrances for the safety of the children.

The breakfast of facts in Muscotah will be held from 7:00-10:00, and is only one event the committee is planning. There will also be an informational breakfast on October 26th from 7:00-9:30 in the morning in Cummings at the Christian church, and in Lancaster at the city building on the morning of November 3rd from 7:30 to 11:00.  A cookout is also planned for the evening of October 27th from 5:00 to 8:00 at the elementary school in Effingham.
