(KAIR)--An Atchison woman is behind bars after police responded to a call for a domestic disturbance on the 900 block of North 5th shortly after 10:30 Thursday morning. Atchison police chief Mike Wilson says that the male victim had been threatened by allegedly having a screwdriver placed near this throat.
When officers initially arrived, both parties involved in the incident had fled. Witnesses identified the victim and officials were able to contact him. He returned to the scene, and provided information as to where the alleged suspect could be.
22 year old Destiny Burdick had fled to a friend's home a few blocks away. She was taken to the Atchison county jail where she faces a charge of aggravated assault. No bond has been set at this time.
