(KMZA)--An Highland man escaped serious injury in a single-vehicle accident early Sunday evening on K-110 Highway just south of Axtell in Marshall County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 20-year-old Gale Nightingale was traveling north when his pickup truck entered the east ditch, striking a mailbox. The pickup then crossed back over both lanes and entered the west ditch, striking a KDOT sign and several fenceposts, before coming to rest in the west ditch.
Nightingale, who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, was transported to the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca for treatment of possible injuries.
The accident was reported around 5:15 Sunday evening.
